Ian Calder-Piedmonte is appointed to the Town Board

On Tuesday, January 8, 2024. East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez announced  the Town Board’s intention to appoint Ian Calder-Piedmonte to fill the board seat left vacant following her election to the Supervisor’s position.

Calder-Piedmonte was sworn in on Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 AM.

Ian Calder-Piedmonte has had a distinguished career serving East Hampton Town as a Town Planning Board member since 2012, most recently as Vice Chair, and liaison to the Town’s Agricultural Advisory Committee.
 
Mr. Calder-Piedmonte has also been a board member of Edible School Gardens, and LTV. He is the co-owner of Balsam Farms. 
 
Raised in rural Michigan, Mr. Calder-Piedmonte moved to East Hampton in 2005, and has worked as a farmer ever since. He met his current business partner Alex Balsam while attending Cornell University, from which he received a BS in Philosophy in 2002. He lives in Springs.
