Virtually every free moment of Rick Drew’s lifetime has been spent on the waters of Eastern Long Island. He is passionate about fishing and as a boy earned his first paycheck clamming. Being on the water was his life until he went to college at Long Island University earning a degree in Computer Science. He brings over 25 years of technology and business leadership to this election.
Rick lives in the Northwest Woods with his wife, Susan, and daughters Alyssa and Carly. Susan is a teacher at East Hampton High School. Rick is the manager of Main Beach Surf and Sport in Wainscott.
Rick is a respected member of the East Hampton water sports community and uses his love of the water to support local fundraising efforts and charitable events for organizations such as Peconic Baykeeper and East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue. As an avid outdoors-man and businessman, he believes it is of paramount importance that we protect our local environment and natural resources. We must be vigilant with respect to protecting our environment if our communities are to continue to flourish. We are a beach and water based community therefor, public access to our beaches is essential, one of the reasons Rick is an active member of CFAR.
Rick believes it is time for progressive leadership on the Town Trustees to provide transparency, consistency, clearly defined procedures, open communication and overall good governance.
