… which is why we have acted aggressively to get the club scene under control.

The problems of overcrowded nightclubs, crowds, and alcohol induced bad behavior have been accumulating in Montauk and reached a crisis level this summer. The Town Board on which we serve didn’t  hesitate. We immediately authorized the enforcement resources necessary and cracked down on DWI, noisy and overcrowded nightclubs, illegal parking, taxi violations, public urinations and illegal housing. We have obtained NYS Supreme Court restraining orders against clubs operating illegally and issued more State Liquor Authority referrals than the prior two years combined.

We banned parking on Edgemere and adopted taxi legislation so that out-of-town taxis drivers wouldn’t be sleeping in their cars overnight and occupying all of our public parking.

We’re working to get control of threats to quality of life in Montauk. We will not rest until public safety and community peace are restored to Montauk.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. We ask for your support and your vote to continue this important work.

Larry Cantwell for Supervisor,
Sylvia Overby and Peter Van Scoyoc for Town Board.
