The East Hampton Democratic Committee wants to make sure that the public understands the structure of government within our town. As a result, we created this document, East Hampton Government 101 to breakdown the different areas of administration.  This document gives more specifics about the different areas which our town government covers and how you can get involved.

East Hampton Town Board Meetings

Work sessions: held the first three Tuesdays of the month in Town Hall at 10 a.m. Town Board members discuss issues and upcoming legislation.

Business Meetings: Held the first and third Thursdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall or the Fire Department in Montauk.  At these meetings, the Board schedules and holds public hearings on proposed legislation and passes laws and resolutions. There is a public session, usually first or early in the agenda, in which any member of the public may speak on any subject for up to 3 minutes.

East Hampton Town Trustees Meetings

The East Hampton Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall, East Hampton.

Meetings are now televised live on Channel 22.

Meets most Wednesdays at 6 pm in Town Hall.
