Re-Elect Councilwoman Cate Rogers

Cate Rogers has lived in East Hampton for 24 years and is a resident of Springs.  Prior to being elected to the Town Board in 2021, Cate served on the Zoning Board of Appeals where she was a member for a total of 9 years, serving the last 7 as its Vice Chairwoman until her retirement in 2018.  

In 2017, Cate began her advocacy for solutions to the Climate Crisis as a Climate Leader trained by Former Vice President Al Gore for The Climate Reality Project and is a mentor, and Co-Chair of the NYS Coalitions of Chapters. She is also a founding member of Wind With Wind and WIndworks,LI.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE TOWN BOARD

  • Protected East Hampton’s Environment, Community, and Sustainability by sponsoring common sense zoning code amendments
  • Expanded Community Housing Opportunities for Working People by helping to rewrite the affordable housing codes
  • Helped secure $2.5M in NYS funding for coastal dune restoration for Ditch Plains
  • Completed the South Fork Wind Farm construction, reducing CO2 gases equaling 60,000 cars yearly
  • Sponsored composting pilot program eliminating 12,245 lbs. of food scraps from the waste stream over two summers

OBJECTIVES FOR NEXT TERM

  • Fight against the Economic Exploitation of our Neighborhoods by Short Term Rental Investors
  • Advance the Principles of Sustainability across our town
  • Support community led planning for a year round resilient Montauk utilizing $500k NYS grant funding
  • Expand Childcare Opportunities across our town
  • Increase our Coastal Resilience and address the impacts of the Climate Crisis
  • Support our democracy and the rights of our community Members
