David Lys

While serving as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals from 2013 – 2018 and as your Town Councilman since 2018, I have consistently demonstrated an ability to bring people together to solve problems.  As a life-long resident of East Hampton, my local knowledge combined with a tireless work ethic, is helping to protect the future of our beautiful town for generations to come.  

Initiated and completed MAJOR recreational facility projects

  • Montauk Skate Park
  • New Little League Ballfields On Stephen Hands Path
  • Buckskill Meadow Preserve
  • Secured funding for NEW Pickleball courts
Preservation
  • Achieved historic landmark designation for Second House, the Carl Fisher House, and the Nathaniel Parsons House
Infrastructure Projects completed
  • Stephen Hands Path & Rt 114 drainage project
  • Tuthill Road Road reconstruction
  • Beach Lane, Wainscott Road end redesign
Protecting Agriculture and Fisheries
  • Initialized first ever fisheries gear storage site
  • Advocated for reclamation of former farms into food crop production
GOALS
  • Complete the 395 Pantigo Affordable Housing Project
  • Once legally permissible, operate a controlled Airport
  • Defend the Public’s Rights to Access the Beach by all available means
