Cate Rogers, Councilwoman

Cate has a long history of community service, grassroots organizing, as well as volunteering for the East Hampton Democratic Party. In 2016, she was appointed the Campaign Headquarters Coordinator for the Clinton-Holst office in East Hampton and was honored to be a co-recipient of the committee’s Democrat of the Year award. In 2018, she was elected Chairperson of the 37-member East Hampton Democratic Committee and has created community outreach programs and grew the party membership through registration and get out the vote initiatives.

She also served on the Zoning Board of Appeals where she was a member for a total of 9 years, serving the last 7 as its Vice Chairwoman until her retirement in 2018.

In 2017 Cate began her advocacy for solutions to the Climate Crisis as a Climate Leader trained by Former Vice President Al Gore for The Climate Reality Project and is a mentor, and Co-Chair of the NYS Coalitions of Chapters. She is also a founding member of Wind With Wind and WIndworks,LI.

Background

Cate Rogers has lived in East Hampton for 20 years and has been a resident of Springs for the last 7 years.  She is a partner in a family owned 28-acre commercial property in Commack, NY.  She has worked in her family businesses since the age of 14 and has lived her entire life on coastal Long Island.
