Michael’s family history on the East End of Long Island dates back to the 17th Century when his ninth great grandfather, Ezekiel Sandford, was commissioned to build a bridge across Sagg Pond, connecting the villages of Sagg and Mecox in 1686. The nearby Sandford Homestead, built in 1680, still stands.
Michael, his wife Jess, and their three children live in Wainscott and all three of the kids have either graduated from or are going to the Wainscott School. His concern about a safe environment for his family brought his attention to the Wainscott Citizen Advisory Committee, whose meetings he began attending and was soon asked to join.
He is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of East Hampton Town and is in his fourth year as a member of the East Hampton Planning Board, has served on the East Hampton Energy and Sustainability Committee, as well as the Wainscott Citizens Advisory Committee.
With over twenty years of website development, administration, and project management experience, he is uniquely qualified to continue the Town’s effort at modernizing the Town Clerk’s office.
